My "Sweet Nothings" for Sharyn Maceren: Part 2
BakitWhy had the opportunity to watch Sharyn Maceren as she performed tracks from her latest album Nighttime Land! Not only was this our first time ever watching her perform, but it was also her first time to perform LIVE since the album was released.
We were able to go backstage for an exclusive One and One interview with Sharyn Maceren. We asked her who her musical influences were and learned that she looked to Mariah Carey and wanted to be just like her ever since she was young girl. We also wanted to know what the fans could expect in the future and learned that Sharyn wants to do more acoustic style music with songs on the piano and even the guitar! It's really great to know that she likes to offer her fans variety and it really showcases her musical range.
Sharyn kicked things off on-stage with Can U Wait, the first single released from the album. She really conveyed her feelings into this song to help show that when one relationship ends there is a transition period to go through before being able to fully commit to a new one.
Continuing the hype, Sharyn brought things back by performing her first single ever, Hard to Get. This was a special treat to listen to again, especially for freestyle lovers that were fans from the very beginning like myself.
And finally bringing her performance to a close, Sharyn gave the audience a new track called, U Love Me Good. She dedicated this song for anyone who has ever experienced heart ache. Being a slow-jam pop song, this allows us to see that she has the ability to venture into other styles of music!
Did you miss Sharyn's performance at Fiesta Filipina 2008? No need to worry, kasi you can still see her perform live at Kababayan Fest on July 5th 2008 at California's Great America in Santa Clara! Can U Wait? If not, you can purchase Sharyn's latest album, Nighttime Land which is available on
