On Sunday, October 30th, Danica May Camacho was born to an excited couple in a Manila government hospital.  The birth of the 5.5 lb Danica marked a significant milestone in the world's human population.  The United Nations declared, as they did with the 5 billion and 6 billion mark, that Danica would represent the 7 billionth person in the world.

The U.N. also used the day to also bring awareness to the global issue of a growing world population.  The Philippines and the rest of the Third World feels the issue harder than First World countries; the near 95 million population struggles with a small land area with limited resources and a struggling economy.

While the Philippines claims the honor of the award, there are poignant challenges facing the direction of humanity.  What are your thoughts on the world population hitting the 7 billion mark and growing?
