For the 3rd year in a row, Long Beach California's Zeta Phi Rho continued their commitment to the Gawad Kalinga (GK) cause to present "Raise the Roof III". Students, friends and family, community members, and performers alike came together in support of these gentlemen's efforts to enjoy a successful night filled with awe-inspiring dance, song, and overwhelming servings of laughter.
The hilarious duo of Lexationships contributed to the high spirited mood as the masters of ceremonies. Krystle Tugadi, Lydia Paek, Victor Kim, Cathy Nguyen, and Randolph Permejo respectively graced the stage with their vocal stylings and acoustic performances. Manny Garcia wooed the audience with his masterful abilities on the piano and mic. Joining him on stage, the sound maker, Leejay Abucayan, showcased his excellent beatboxing skills. Long Beach's very own Pac Modern, Creative Movement, and SPAM lent their artistry and craft and danced for the important cause.
Comedian Jo Koy, who headlined the event, brought the house down even after driving straight from Las Vegas, Nevada that same afternoon.
This year's central theme of "GK Reaches Out" touched upon Gawad Kalinga's growth in extending their aid to other parts of the world apart from the Philippines.
Embracing this progress to far-reaching corners of the world where help is needed the most, we at BakitWhy.com commend Zeta Phi Rho for their advocacy and GK for all their work.
