Calling all Pin@y performance artists between the ages of 18 and 35!
Are you a dancer, actor or musician? Do you use your art for education, activism and community building? Do you want to take your art to the next level through travel and cultural exchange?
Then we invite you to apply for the BJ Alisago Memorial Fellowship!
The BJ Alisago Memorial Fellowship (BJAM) is an annual fund to promote travel and cultural exchange for young Pilipin@ artists who have a demonstrated commitment to community-based art and activism. BJAM was created in tribute to Benito Vincent Alisago, Jr. – a talented musician, dancer and actor who devoted his art to community-building and inspiring people to create change. Following BJ’s untimely death on February 8th, 2005, family and friends initiated a memorial fund to inspire others to carry on his legacy of cultural work.
For more information about the Fellowship visit: http://www.bjalisago.org/
Application deadline is November 4, 2010. Fellowship will be awarded by February 8, 2011 for travel to be completed by the end of 2011.
