From the moment she first opened her mouth to sing, Charice Pempengco effectively perfected the art of turning many heads and making people wonder if the amazing voice coming out of her small, little body was truly hers. Whether it be Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, or Jennifer Hudson, Charice has always managed to capture the absolute essence and spirit of every diva she's embodied and whose songs she's boldly sung.
Now while doing Celine and Whitney renditions are great and everything, Charice still hasn't proven that she can do Justin Bieber...until now. Well, it looks like she's done it again folks, and this time, it may actually be her best work in terms of truly embodying the spirit, heart, and vocal prowess of a singer. In a recent impromptu performance she did for a radio station, Charice finally pulled out all the stops by boldly attempting to out-Bieber Bieber and prove all the doubters who said that she could only sing like a diva but not like a prepubescent teenage boy wrong. Making that big step from Whitney to Bieber - that's no joke, folks. And Charice ain't playing around. Ok, well, maybe she is, but she's still so darn magnificent even when she is just 'playing around.'
Here's a video of Charice performing her spot-on impersonation of Justin Bieber (I'm not sure what's more impressive - the way she's perfected Bieber's prepubescent, teeny-bopper/gangster talk and attitude along with perfect hair-flinging action, or the fact that she sings Bieber's song better than Bieber does...you decide!) Charice really shows her funny side in this clip:
At this point and time, with her newest single "Pyramid (featuring Iyaz)" gaining a lot of positive buzz, Charice has fully established herself as a promising, young diva in her own right. To the Philippines, she's pretty much become the nation's brightest young star. And while Bieber may be the hottest thing since man-made fire, let's not forget - you're not truly legendary until you've managed to get the whole world to recognize you solely by your first name. Advantage: Charice. You've got some work to do, Bieber.
Let's remember to continue showing our support and love for Charice in the coming weeks and months by buying a copy of her debut album, Charice, which comes out this Tuesday, May 11th!

hahaha charice is so spot-on with her bieber impersonation!! (i'm a total bieber hater haha) i wonder if he's seen the video before they were on oprah together and how he felt about it. charice and sarah geronimo are similar to me in one aspect to me in that they can sing other people's bad songs soooooo much better (sarah's version of beyonce's "ave maria" and any ke$ha song are so much better than the original).
i can't wait to see charice on oprah! and in more things she does. my only thing with her "pyramid" single is that it doesn't showcase her vocal abilities and depth as much as it should. but hey, gotta start somewhere right? (sorry for the long comment =P)
Pretty sure Bieber can't do Charice. chyeahh
good one hahaha. i bet 2 things. First, they'll get linked together somehow down the line. Second, duet. Calling it now. LOL

She's come a long way. It's like watching an infant grow and learn how to walk LOL. Get iiiiit baby girl! HAHAHA
Go Charice! I'm so excited for her album and for what's to come for her :)
