Anthony Ladao is a Pilipino-American dancer who originally resides in Seattle, Washington. After gliding his way into his first dance class at the age of 11 under the tutelage of his mentor Bryan Tanaka, Anthony Ladao has since reinvented himself as Lil’ Tanaka (a fitting protégé to his teacher ) and become quite a force in the Seattle dance community, forcing professional dancers and choreographers to pay close attention to his every move. His credentials to date include dancing for groups such as Breed and Offspring, choreographing for the Seattle WNBA/NBA dance teams, taking part in a dance role in Nickelodeon’s “Re-animated” movie, delving into a number of different commercials and music videos, and routinely teaching dance workshops and sessions for Breed, Cruz Control and Westlake Dance Center in Seattle.
In 2006, he was invited to Los Angeles to audition for Janet Jackson alongside 2500 other talented dancers, eventually making his way into the top 25 finalists and catching the attention of Janet Jackson and her management team (which includes Kenneth Creer and the famed Johnny Wright). And after that, the rest is history! As a result, he is now under Wright Creer Management and currently resides in the Orange County/Los Angeles area, honing his skills as a versatile, renaissance man in the entertainment industry who can not only dance, but sing, act, and write as well. It’s even more amazing to realize that he’s done all of this in a matter of…4 years. Yes, Anthony is only 15 years old to date. It kinda makes us old folk look at our own lives in shame and ask - what are we doing and how are we so untalented? Just kidding, but like fellow performing artist and good friend, Monica Parales (who was also profiled awhile ago), be on the lookout for his face and his dance moves to hit screens big and little soon!
Here are three videos, one showcasing choreography that he and Monica taught for their very own class, another of him showing off his crazy, individual freestyle, and an interview of these two talented youngsters about the very promising futures ahead of them:
