BTVfam Hawaii is hosting a music benefit concert called Hawaii Featured Acoustic Playlist, or HI-FAP, on July 3, 2010 at Pipeline Cafe in Honolulu, Hawaii. BTVfam Hawaii's goal is to unite musical talents from YouTube, BlogTV, and Hawaii to bring people of all ages together to support a good cause. The performing artists for HI-FAP 2010 include AJ Rafael, Jenny Suk, Michael Carreon, Jasmine Rafael, Jeff Bernat and local group Pure N8ive.
HI-FAP 2010 will be a benefit concert for Hawaii’s public school music programs. Due to Hawaii’s frail economic state, "Furloughs Fridays", the placement of an employee temporarily and involuntarily in a non-pay and non-duty status by the employer because of lack of work or funds, have been affecting all public schools and government employees. Budget cuts on music programs leave little to no funding, decrease enrollment, and may eventually lead to the complete cancellation to the music programs. Our goal is to help raise money to alleviate the tensions brought upon the public schools music programs.
