Thank you for taking the time to help our friends in the Philippines who really need our assistance right now. Jo Koy and his closest friends are trying to pull together as many donations and supplies for the organizations that will best serve the victims of the ongoing storms. When he saw videos of the places he traveled through last year during his tour with Russell Peters, his heart broke. There are so many people who have lost their loved ones, homes and dreams in a matter of just a few hours. If we just take a few minutes out of our day to do something for them, together we can do something great and make a difference.
Jo Koy and his team have set up various ways you can help out and motivate others.
Choose which organization you would like to donate to. You can either do it online through their websites or by writing a check directly to PNRC or ABS-CBN Foundation and mailing it to Jo Koy’s office:
20687-2 Amar Rd., #352., Walnut, CA 91789.
We will compile all the checks, measure how much has been donated. Jo Koy will match the donations up to $1,000 and send you a gift to thank you for your donation. If you donate online, email your donation receipts to help@jokoy.com.
For each monetary donation to these organizations at $25 or more, you will be given an entry into a raffle for prizes such as concert tickets, gifts from our friends in the entertainment industry, autographed CDs, DVDs, t-shirts and more.
One drawing will take place on October 1 and another on October 15. Both raffle drawings will be shared through YouTube and Facebook.
Drop off clothing & monetary donations in West Covina and Carson, California on Wednesday, September 30. Forex Cargo and LBC have been gracious enough to help us ship slightly used clothing to those who have lost everything. They will be shipped to PNRC, ABS-CBN Foundation and other organizations who will assist in distributing. T-shirts and light clothing worn in tropical weather is requested, as well as clothing for children and babies.
West Covina drop-off location:
Cherry’s Salon and Spa. (Corner of Amar & Nogales)
2550 E Amar Rd # A9, West Covina (626) 935-0353
10 am – 7pm
Jo Koy will be at Cherry’s at 3:00 p.m. to thank all those who donate clothing and checks to the charities. He’ll also have DVDs available. Proceeds will go to smaller charitable groups who are bringing food to famished areas.
Carson drop-off location:
Manila Sunrise Restaurant
21828 Main St : Carson, CA 90745
10 am – 8pm
Jo Koy will be at Manila Sunrise at 6:00 pm to thank all of those who donate. Manila Sunrise will be serving free pancit to those who donate. (While supplies last)
We are also looking for volunteers who can:
• Assist in the day’s activities, help pack boxes and sort through clothing. Clothing that may not be too suitable for the Philippines will directly donated to Goodwill or to disabled veterans (sweaters, etc). The boxes will also need to be transported to Forex’s and LBC’s headquarters. Any help with vans, trucks and manpower will be great.
• Donate bottled water and snacks for volunteers at each drop off location.
• Spread the word about the clothing drive and request for monetary donations for The Red Cross and Sagip Kapamilya through Facebook, Myspace and Twitter.
• Donate prize items to our raffles, such as gift certificates and swag.
• Contribute to the cost of shipping by donating a the cost of a box's shipping to LBC or Forex.
Purchase anything from Jokoy.com from now until September 30 and the proceeds will go directly to Sagip Kapamilya and The Philippine National Red Cross.
This is a small guerilla movement started by Jo Koy and his closest friends. Everything is happening on Wednesday because he leaves for his shows in Hawaii on Thursday morning. We’re hoping to get a whole army of caring people who are ready to reach out to friends around the world and help them get a chance to smile again. For now, we'll refer to ourselves as the "Ting Ting Army." The name helps us keep good spirits and laughs while working for a serious cause. We're going to make a change.
For more information, please feel free to email us.
