In the latest cycle of America’s Next Top Model (ANTM), contestants were challenged to look high fashion—in a landfill. The girls wore eco-friendly dresses specially made for each girl by a Dubai-based Pilipino designer. Michael Cinco adds a new name to the successful list of Pilipinos who has made their mark internationally in fashion.

Cinco began to showcase his pieces and opened a Michael Cinco Haute Couture house in Dubai, with evening gowns and wedding gowns a woman would lust over. He has evolved to joining the Miami Fashion Week and many of his dresses has been worn by high-class celebrities like Pilipino actress Angel Locsin at the Emmy’s last year.

According to Ginggay Joven-dela Merced, Michael's work landed on the show courtesy of Michael Carandang, a Filipino Emmy Award-winning producer of ANTM, who endeavors to "give the Filipino talent a platform to be recognized." He says in an interview for the Philippine Star, "I took a chance, Tyra and my bosses bought into that risk. It was all worth it. The clothes were impeccable, like art works." He added, "Everyone in ANTM was so impressed—the crew, the talents, the producers, and of course, Tyra! I’m really proud to be able to bring Filipino talents on ANTM."
