At the 17th Annual Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture (FPAC) in 2008, BakitWhy.com exploded onto the scene to prove that it was more than just a blog or a website, but an actual connection to the community. Only in its fourth month, Bakitwhy.com contributed in a big way by being one of the media sponsors and had a booth not be overlooked at FPAC, which was held in Point Fermin Park, San Pedro, California. With friendly smiles and welcoming displays, Bakitwhy.com continued to uphold the Pilipino tradition of family and culture. With the age-old pilipino saying "Bakit Why?” on shirts and stickers, Pilipino-Americans from all over Southern California were stopping by to give praise to the innovation of capitalizing on such a unique, yet everyday quote of our people. Team members for Bakitwhy.com started out with a humble set up, but with ambitious goals. We wanted to get the word out! Little did we know, the Pilipino American experience was quietly hungry for such a relevant online community connection that Bakitwhy.com provided.

Bakitwhy.com staffers were eager to get the ball rolling on such an amazing opportunity. As stickers floated around FPAC, the word of our presence quickly spread. Our Field Correspondents held exclusive interviews with HappySlip, members of Kaba Modern, and numerous other Pilipino American artists, producers, directors, and community organizers who all helped to create such a remarkable annual weekend experience.

Being that "FPAC is the largest and longest running annual Filipino tradition in Southern California with 85 exhibitors, 450 volunteers, 1,200 artists, and over 25,000 guests", Bakitwhy.com is so very thankful for the opportunity to have participated in such an impacting event.

After full sign-up sheets, great content, and lots of video and pictures to post, the weekend closed off with the humble reality that Bakitwhy.com was this entity that the public was warmly receiving. Now with a nationwide presence, Bakitwhy.com continues to embody the Pilipino-American Experience in all realms of fashion, music, art, food, religion, and culture, just to name a few.

With the 19th Anniversary of FPAC coming up this September, Bakitwhy.com is proud to strengthen their continued support and involvement as we here in the Bakitwhy.com family also celebrate our exciting 3rd Anniversary.
