MTV's America's Best Dance Crew brings the nation "The Disco Challenge".  This week, each crew is assigned a 70's hit song and a dance craze.  Not only are they expected to master the moves of that era, but they are also challenged to keep their routine modern and creative.  Amidst all the polyester, sequence, and memorable moves and songs, there was still a feeling of reluctancy and anxiety because this week, for the first time in ABDC history, 2 crews are getting sent home.

Despite the inevitable double elimination lingering in the air, all 7 crews performed their best with their songs.

  • BLUEPRINT CRU:  Chic-"Le Freak"
  • STATIC NOYZE:  Walter Murphy-"A Fifth of Beethoven"
  • HEAVY IMPACT:  Bee Gees-"You Should Be Dancing"
  • SALTARE:  The Trammps-"Disco Inferno"
  • JUNGLE BOOGIE: Kool and the Gang-"Jungle Boogie"
  • HYPE 5-0: Peaches and Herbs-"Shake Your Groove Thang"
  • POREOTIX:  Jackson 5-"Dancing Machine"

Joe interviews Poreotix during the Disco Challenge.

Stay tuned with MTV and Bakitwhy.com for a great trip down the 1970's.  Backstage, the crews shared the inside scoop with some of the interesting wardrobe and costume details. Some may agree that these 7 crews are extremely talented and the double elimination's devastation will be felt by all.

Next week, MTV and BakitWhy.com brings you the smooth styles and hit songs of Usher!  Stay tuned to BakitWhy.com and MTV Thursdays 10/9C for more of your favorites, and don't forget to VOTE to keep your favorite crews on the show!

I think dance music from the 70s and early 80s is heavily underrated. Does anyone want to share any of their favorites? Here's one of the many that I like:
