After months of preparation, PNOY Apparel, the San Diego based clothing company, held a benefit showcase for their Shirt the Kids Campaign.

The event took place on June 6th at Rebel NYC right near Madison Square Garden and was a tremendous success. The performers came out from far and wide and included the likes of Ashley Robles, Deep Foundation, Kiwi, Bambu and was hosted by Ruby Veridiano-Ching. But it did not stop there as Deep Foundation pulled out all the stops for their performance.

KJ Butta was on the turntables as people were making their way into the event. PNOY Apparel set up merchandise tables featuring CDs from Deep Foundation and Bambu, as well as Sammy T-Shirts to help raise money for Shirt the Kids.

Ashley Robles was the first performer of the night and quickly caught the attention of the audience with her powerful vocals. Her original songs had the crowd’s head bobbing the entire night.

Kiwi came on stage and turned the energy on full blast, coming with the same powerful style that he consistently brings during each performance.

Deep Foundation’s performance could be in the running for the most entertaining performance of the night. They performed several songs from “The First Draft” such as “Destiny” featuring Ashley Robles, and “Sleep” featuring New York/New Jersey based singer-songwriter Jay Legaspi. To top it off, they hit the audience with a throwback medly set featuring “Real Americans”, Hulk Hogan’s original theme during his time with World Wrestling Entertainment, as well as throwback commercial jingles such as “Skip It”.

Bambu closed out the show with an amazing set. He had the audience’s heads bobbing, arms waving and reciting his lyrics. He performed several songs from his solo albums such as “Iron Bam”, “Chairman Mao” and “Like Us”.Pnoy Apparel Shirt the Kids New York

The end of the night was full of surprises, such as a reunion with Kiwi for a special Native Guns performance, and the last song of the night belonged to Deep Foundation who performed their remix to “Children of the Sun” as Kiwi and Hydroponikz joined them on stage.

The event proved to be a successful, especially so as Zar Javier, the founder of PNOY Apparel, auctioned off a new release jacket that sold for an amazing $275.
