ABS-CBN: One Kapamilya, Go! Over 6,000 Pilipino Americans all over Southern California came to the Ontario Convention Center to see their favorite Kapamilya stars. These fans are only a fraction of the many Pilipinos worldwide that have remained connected to the entertainment industry in the Philippines through The Filipino Channel (TFC), provided by ABS-CBN, one of the major global media networks from the Philippines. The main show at the event featured Martin Nievera, Sheryn Regis, Carol Banawa, Charice Pempengco, Edu Manzano, Bea Alonzo, and John Lloyd Cruz. These were the talents that filled their fans with joy through their memorable performances.

The show began with stellar vocal performances by Martin Nievera, Sheryn Regis, Carol Banawa, and Charice Pempengco. Martin Nievera aka "The Concert King" is known for his power vocals and top hits. He performed several songs including hits like "You Are My Song" and classics such as "Be My Lady". Sheryn Regis delivered a compilation of Filipino teleserye theme songs to remind the audience of the shows on TFC that have touched their hearts. Songs included "Kailan Kaya" and "Sabihin Mo sa Akin". The fans' favorite OPM hits were sung by Carol Banawa. Her renditions of "Hawak Kamay" and "Tell Me" left the fans wanting more. Charice Pempengco sang her renditions of "A Moment like This" and "My Heart Will Go On". The segment ended with the four talents singing the Inspirational hit, "Sabihin Mo Ikaw ay Pilipino"...
The Philippines' box office superstars and favorite loveteam, Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz, provided the "kilig" of the show with a duet performance of the theme song to their record-breaking teleserye, "Maging Sino Ka Man". Bea Alonzo also sang her first single, "I'm Missing You" to promote her debut album titled "The Real Me".

The next lineup was a live showing of the popular game show, "Game Ka Na Ba?" hosted by Edu Manzano. Real Pil-Am contestants participated in the show for a chance to win various prizes including $2,000 cash and 2 round trip tickets to the Philippines. The show ended with the entire cast and audience dancing together to the ever popular "Papaya Song".

The event celebrated the 15th Anniversary of The Filipino Channel. The Cities of Ontario, Carson, and Walnut marked September 21st, TFC Day. With the huge turnout and success of One Kapamilya Go, we can look forward to more future events with your favorite Kapamilya stars here in the U.S. Stay tuned...

Yes, K1 I agree. There were mixed reviews made by the people who attended the show. This is one of ABS-CBN's first shows of its kind and there were difficulties finding the right venue. Some people complained about the trash and the lack of places to sit. In the future, outdoor shows or seated concerts would be best to accommodate Pil-Ams and make them more accountable for respecting the environment. Balitang America also covered this show and included the range of people's comments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrMdmDyJ_AI

one thing that struck me at the event is the amount of TRASH piled up in the convention center. One thing we need to learn as Pil-Ams is environmental standards :-D
