Pilipinos have been put on the map of "firsts" once again thanks to Pilot Nathaniel Jordan S. Calvo -  the first Pilipino to fly the Airbus A380 under Emirates airline - who recently flew the world's largest jet! 37-year-old Calvo has been schooled in aerospace and mechanical engineering in both the Philippines and then in the United States, where he took flight lessons and ignited his passion and love for flying. Qualifying for such a feat requires having been selected to take an A380 transition training course designed by Airbus, the leading aircraft manufacturing company itself.

The Airbus A380 has two full-length decks, wider seats, more head room, and more room to breathe - more space! Imagine flying that beauty across oceans! Many countries such as the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka have claimed their first pilots who've flown the airbus, and now the Philippines is among the few and the proud.

Calvo currently lives in Dubai with his wife, Cecilia Roco, and their kids. They have family roots in the Philippines and the United States. Remember that you, too, can make your dreams take flight!

I've always wanted to learn how to fly a plane... maybe I'll start with a smaller one though.

Did you know that the A380s feature full private double-beds for first class passengers? Did you also know that Singapore airlines has a ban on naughty activity within those rooms? haha. Check out more info here: http://blogs.usatoday.com/sky/2007/11/a380-sex-ban.html
