Professionals to Outreach To Students at Filipino American Network Los Angeles (FAN/LA) Mixer This Wednesday

Two popular questions heard at universities from Pilipino-American Students:

"What's out there for me after college?"
"How can I stay connected with my Pilipino community after I graduate?"

The Filipino American Network (FAN) is hosting a mixer this Wednesday, April 21st in Hollywood at Boardner's (1652 N. Cherokee Ave), where college students (18+) and all aspiring professionals will have the chance to meet several Pilipino professionals representing such fields as law, medicine, marketing, financial services, technology, internet, community services, entrepreneurship, and the fine arts.

"FAN offers college students and young professionals an opportunity to meet Pilipinos and other professionals in a networking environment, as well as stay close to their cultural roots after graduation," said Walter Boholst, who serves on FAN's Board of Directors.  "We look forward to inviting new members to join our group as we continue to make new friends and become a stronger presence in the community."

Established in 2001, the Filipino American Network was founded by a group of young entrepreneurs and professionals within the greater Los Angeles area.  FAN provides its members with an opportunity to network and share their experiences, talents, and knowledge with other members of the community.

"I believe this event will be a great resource to students trying to build a good professional foundations," said Jeremiah Abraham, founder and director of  "I'm glad there are opportunities like this where young minds can explore where their hard work can eventually lead them."

In addition to its professional mixers, FAN's line-up of activities for 2010 include entertainment panels, wine tasting, FAN Beach Day, movie screenings, and their annual Restaurant Tour.  FAN hosts events throughout Southern California, and affords its members the chance to have fun while building lasting professional and personal friendships, as well as maintaining their cultural community ties. and FAN hope to see you this Wednesday!
