His Red Roses album debuted on the Top 10 lists on iTunes in the US, Australia, and Canada. The album ranked #33 for all albums on iTunes and topped the Billboard Heatseeker Chart at #13.
AJ is looking forward to performing at the Music Museum in Manila on January 18, 2012. Proceeds from the show in Manila will go to the CRIBS Foundation, as a way to give back to the Philippines.
AJ’s manager, Christina Luna of the Luna Co. said, “We are excited to have AJ Rafael perform for the first time for his fans in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and return once again to Australia, where they have been long time supporters of AJ.”
Much of his success is credited to the videos he posts on YouTube, but he began posting his original music on myspace.com. AJ has also been able to use YouTube to collaborate with artist like Krissy and Ericka Villongco his opening act for the Red Roses Tour, Jay-R Sillona and many other artist.
ASAP 2012, a variety act TV show in the Philippines, recently featured AJ singing with one of his music idols, Gary Valenciano. AJ said that he was nervous performing alongside Gary V, but was glad he was able to get through the song.
The love and passion AJ has for music stems from his father, who died when AJ was 10 years old. AJ hopes that his music will leave a legacy, and that he can perform for the rest of his life.
“I was born to play music. I grew up to live for music. I have learned to breathe music. I already feel successful in a sense that I have touched someone else’s heart with my music,” said AJ.
