We at BakitWhy.com would like to take the time to honor the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. today. We would like remember the accomplishments that he and his generation achieved in the fight for civil rights in the United States. Even the idea of a Pilipino American online community might not have been conceivable without his sacrifice -- a sacrifice that served as catalyst for the general acceptance of miniorities in mainstream America.
The struggle for equal protection under the law and equal respect in people's hearts is still ongoing. For more information on how Pilipino Americans took up the struggle, discourse on civil rights, and how you can get involved, visit the resources below:

I've always wanted to be like Dr. King.. one who cared for the poor as a change agent through nonviolence (I ended up working in homeless shelters and more humanitarian/activism work)
Thanks for the tribute, here, Fil-Ams and the international poor (for which King's advocacy was geared towards at the end of his life) look forward to his spirit carried on by our current new leadership in America and beyond..
..also even here, thanks!
Kind Regards,
Yelo
