San Diego County's largest Filipino event is this weekend. The 5th Annual FilAmFest is a one day street festival that showcases the culture, heritage, and history of the Philippine community in San Diego.
Beginning as the Filipino Heritage Festival, the annual event has quickly grown into the premiere gathering in San Diego for the community, with support from the City of San Diego and several local schools and organized groups.
Last year, over 12,000 people attended, and this year promises to be even bigger. Jazz singer Charmaine Clamour (featuring the Pakaraguian Kulintang Esnemble), Bambu, Ashley Robles, Kat Badar, and comedian Justin Rivera will be appearing. There will also be a Preview Night from 7-8pm on Thursday with special guest Ashley Robles.
The 5th Annual FilAmFest takes place Saturday, October 3rd on Paradise Valley Road (between Gilmartin Drive and Woodman Street). For more information on the 5th Annual FilAmFest or Preview Night, visit www.FilAmFest.com.
