Based in the Historic Filipinotown district of Downtown Los Angeles, Search to Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA) is a non-profit Community Organization that was founded in 1972. Although, as the name implies, SIPA’s client base is mostly Pilipino, they actually serve everyone; particularly the Youth, the Family, & the Community in general.

SIPA, which is the Pilipino word for "to kick" (as in "to kick into action"), provides a lot of free but vital services; not only to the diverse, multi-ethnic youth and families residing in the Historic Filipinotown area, but also to Pilipino-Americans all over Los Angeles County.

The following are some of these services that SIPA helps the community with:

Health & Human Services:

•          Youth & After School enrichment activities

–        Tutoring services
–        Cultural workshops
–        Sport programs

•          Counseling services (for individuals, families and groups)

•          Case Management

•          Community education

          –        Parenting classes

Community Economic Development:

•          Community Outreach, Education, & Advocacy

•          Affordable family housing

•          Small business counseling

•          Financial Literacy activities

•          Telephone Consumer Assistance

•          Homeownership preservation (foreclosure assistance)
