There’s something rewarding about closely watching a young talent over the years and seeing how much they grow to become a bona fide star. Now, I don’t mean to sound like a voyeur or even a stalker, even though I have a knack for discovering talents, but Olivia Lopez is a muse in the making!
Now a domain over from blogspot to Fashion Salade, the Orange County native is trending all over the net. Her blog "I’ve Got A Lust for Life" boasts a quarter million American views alone. She writes about anything from her eventful life to her inspirations. She is definitely an advertiser’s dream!
It seems like her belief in herself is what ultimately jumpstarted her career as a fashion blogger. She lives by the “Be your own muse!” philosophy.
Lopez's career began with posing in American Apparel gold bathing suits for her friends, to modeling for Lanie Alablanza’s Hellz Bellz collection, to being hired by a French swim suit label, to looking pretty for a Harper’s Bazaar photographer in the middle of Salvation Mountain.
Her biggest mass appeal came recently after shooting a video for the spring campaign of Olsenboye, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s affordable junior line exclusively at JC Penny.
Barely in college, the 18-year-old Pilipina American claims to fit the occupation of a writer, buyer, and muse all into her little frame.
Her ‘60s inspired mix-and-match style is a fresh revival to the hippie era. Her signature bold lipstick makes a daring statement, while her sky-high heels put petite girls at a higher platform in the fashion industry. For some reason, she has a knack for making vintage pieces chic, timeless, yet laidback.
