Just a few few days ago, the Philippines was hit by Typhoon Ondoy. In it's after math, over 40,000 people have lost their homes and over 200 people have lost their lives. Even as the shock subsides and people sift through the debris and reunite with loved ones, and morn the deceased, meteorologists are monitoring another typhoon that may hit the Philippines.
Typhoon "Pepeng" is currently gaining strength and threatens to turn into a Super Typhoon. A severe typhoon has winds off at least 80 knot (95 mph, 150 km/h) while a super typhoon has winds of at least 100 knot (115 mph, 185 km/h).
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Typhoon Pepeng (PARMA) with winds of 150 -185 kph is making its way towards the Philippines. Latest reports say that the storm is east of Borogan, Eastern Samar and is moving West Northwest. PAGASA expects that the storm will head towards Northern Luzon and Taiwan. Pepeng is the 16th tropical cyclone to enter the country this year and the fifth weather disturbance in September.
It is not clear that whether or not Typhoon Pepeng will hit Luzon and the Philippine government and its citizens cannot handle this crisis alone. Rescue and relief efforts are in full force. To be a part of these efforts, even at a distance, please donate to these efforts in what ever way you can. You can donate to international aid organizations.

We are already experiencing this super typhoon here in Albay! As I am writing this I could feel the winds striking the glass windows of our house. I have stocked water because our place is a flood-risk area.
I hope this typhoon will change its course. We cannot bear another typhoon like Reming of 2006.
Please pray for our safety.
