"The radio plays our favorite song
And it's what keeps me holding on.
Baby, do you miss me?
Now that I'm gone..."
Admit it-- this jam is still a standard on your break-up playlist and/or your list of 90s dance tunes. "Do You Miss Me" was Jocelyn Enriquez's smash hit that received heavy airplay in 1997. This catchy dance song was a top 40 single in the United States, as well as a hit in Singapore and Canada. Her second single off that album, "A Little Bit of Ecstasy" did not cross over to pop stations as well, but it reached number one on the Billboard Dance sales chart.
Enriquez was born and raised in San Francisco, California. Her parents encouraged her from a young age, and she studied voice with the San Francisco Girls Chorus and the San Francisco Opera Company. In high school, she performed in an all-girl group dubbed Pinay Divas as an ode to En Vogue and their nickname, Funky Divas. She debuted in 1994 with Lovely. Two singles made dents in the song charts, but it was only a taste of what was to come. Her sophomore effort, Jocelyn included the track, "Do You Miss Me" and the rest is pop culture history.
It might seem that she was a flash-in-the-pan, but Enriquez continued to find success working in the dance genre. In 1998, she scored a pop hit with "If You Could Read My Mind" as part of Stars on 54. Her song, "When I Get Close To You" reached the top of the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 2000. In 2003, she released a third album and started a record label, JEM Entertainment. All My Life carried "No Way No How" which found its way to a number one spot on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. She is also a guest vocalist on Thunderpuss's "So Fabulous So Fierce," a song featured on the Dance Dance Revolution video game.
While Enriquez might occasionally pop up on your iTunes with her famous ditty, you may find yourself dancing to one of her other hits at a club-- or even the arcade-- and not even know it!

As a big Jocelyn Enriquez/Freestyle fan I believe her debut album Lovely had just more than two singles that made dent's in the charts which include "I've Been Thinking About You" "Make This Last Forever" "Big Love" and "Only"... These songs are Freestyle Classics!
There were so many remixes of "Do You Miss Me?" it was crazy! My favorite of course being the Electrobeat Mix. This version became the more popular to use for dj's on radio mixshows.
In my opinion, after the release of her second album, JOCELYN... Tommy Boy/Timber records did not do a great job at promoting her. They were probably too busy promoting Amber.
That's probably why Jocelyn had to create JEM Entertainment to distribute her third album, "All My Life".
Again, this is just wishful thinking as a fan, but I would love to hear Jocelyn create new music collaborating with Glen Gutierrez, just as they originally did in 1993 for the release of LOVELY.
