She has brought us the artists Rhythm Natives and Christine Alane via her management firm, Rick & Ray, as well as the e-zine, Chicharon Adventures.  In this exclusive feature, Pilipina-American entrepreneur Tricia Jamanila tell us what some of the most important things are in her life, and zones in on how we can take charge of our own fulfillment in celebration of BakitWhy.com's Pilipino American Health Awareness Month.

  • What are you passionate about?

Is it too cliché to say that I’m passionate about life? Because that’s the honest truth.

  • How have you embraced your passions and incorporated them into your life’s work?

By balancing what I’m living for. I realized what make me happy – music, writing, relationships. I own a management firm called Rick & Ray, and right now, I get to manage my friends. I push their careers and see them shine, knowing that I had a part in all of it. I also run a blog/e-zine called Chicharon Adventures. It’s an outlet of self expression through writing, photography, and finding content. In turn, both entities have helped me with my relationships. They’ve helped strengthen some, they’ve helped create some.

  • What is your advice to others?

Follow what is important to you. Go make your life, not a living. Live what you love. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Work on yourself, and add value to yourself, so that you can be confident in the decisions you make. Surround yourself with like-minded people. When I got out of college, I did the corporate gig for many years and followed all sorts of opportunities. Most were more lucrative than meaningful, and most didn’t fit right. So I made the conscious decision to change for myself, and sooner than later, everything fell into place.

  • What's next for you?

Rick & Ray now throws a monthly event over at the Blu Monkey Lounge called Lifeswell. The next one is on Thursday, February 24 with three of LA’s best DJs spinning alongside the house band, Rhythm Natives. Expect more music to be released this year by RN and also my other artist, R&B singer, Christine Alane. Also on my creative roster is makeup artist, Shelly Samia. Her work will be featured Rain Cosmetic’s ad campaign. As for Chicharon Adventures, stay tuned for more interviews to drop in the ezine, and of course keep up with the daily blog. I think that’s it. Follow me on Twitter if you want to know more, I guess. Haha.
