Saturday, Nov. 13th, USC TROY PHILIPPINES held its 4th annual Mabuhay Festival at the USC McCarthy Quad. This year the benefit concert raised money for WE International Philippines, a nonprofit organization focused on working with the people to provide a better future for Pilipinos. One of the projects that tackles the issue of poverty in the Philippines is the David Project. This project focuses on the poverty in Smokey Mountain, a garbage dump in Manila that is home to hundreds of families and their children.
The Mabuhay Festival was open to the public and suggested donations were taken at the entrance. Other booths, such as silent auction and balloon twist, also aided in raising money for the charity. The live entertainment featured Youtube sensation AJ Rafael, LA hip-hop stalwart Bambu, and Heavy Impact of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. Other talented artists such as Manny Garcia, Mike Isberto, Krystle Tugadi, Alex Salazar, Kinh Nguyen w/ Kris Mark, and The 2auce Project also shared the stage at this awesome event.
