The Live Remix Concert will feature live performances and a live video remix of SOUNDS OF A NEW HOPE, a documentary on hip-hop and the Philippine struggle for freedom featuring Kiwi (of Native Guns). The film will be re-mixed and re-edited live by the filmmaker, Eric Tandoc (DJ ET), on two turntables using Serato Scratch Live video DJ technology with new, never-before-seen scenes that take you deeper into the lives of Kiwi and youth organizers in the Philippines.
The evening will be a FREE outdoor screening & concert at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) Plaza, surrounded by the backdrop of beautiful Downtown LA with live musical performances that are incorporated in-between scenes of the film.
The Live Remix will be a complete fusion of music and film to raise awareness and consciousness about the progressive movement of Filipinos in the U.S. as well as in the Philippines.
