FACHIC

The Filipino American Community Health Initiative of Chicago (FACHIC) is a collaborative of community, health professional, and academic
leaders united to address Filipino health issues in the Chicago area. The mission of FACHIC is to increase awareness of Filipino health disparities and to implement health interventions and educational programming to improve the health status of the Filipino community.

FACHIC was established in September 2007 when several like-minded health professionals, academic leaders, and Filipino-American community members came together to start what is now a non-profit
organization dedicated to the betterment of health and wellbeing of Filipino Americans residing in metropolitan Chicago. FACHIC became an Illinois corporation in July 2008 and obtained its 501(c)(3) status in October 2009. FACHIC is composed of an all volunteer staff, board and advisory board.
