Dear BakitWhy Family,

It’s here! My chapbook, “small sky.” Made to order and ready to be shared with the world. I really need your help and support, fam. I’m trying to afford a week-long writing residency with Filipina American author M. Evelina Galang for the Voices of Our Nation (VONA) Writers of Color Conference at UC Berkeley this summer.

I’m hoping that, this time around, the community will take care of me. I’m a young and serious writer and I’m still trying to navigate a path that works for me. I have contributed to BakitWhy.com since July 2008 and I do my best to support community events – film festivals, concerts, readings, shows and dialogues – and I will continue to support youth, organizations, artists, activists, and do-gooders who focus their energies on creative uplift.

So, please, help me get to the other side of the Bay Area! Your eyes on my poetry would be the best way to support my art.

It's on sale for $5! Please visit my online store at http://janicewrites.bigcartel.com/

Thanks & love,
Janice Sapigao
