Exclusive Holiday Q&A with Alfred Lape of LAVSH
LAVSH Creator and Designer (who has worked with the likes of the Black Eyed Peas, The Neptunes, Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Kid Cudi, Chris Brown, Keri Hilson, SuperCr3w, among others), gives us a glimpse of his inspirations, what's to come, and some of his favorite Holiday traditions.
Where do you draw your inspirations from?
"Life. Struggle. Non-believers. Lack of resources. Streets fashion. Films. Music videos. Biographies. Japan. Europe."
What do you always hope to provide with your work?
"Creating things that are consistently exciting & unique. Designs that relate, identify, resonate with people & crosses cultures appealing to different markets."
What are some of your goals for the upcoming year?
"Leaving Los Angeles, moving to NY beginning of November, the goal is to impact, make history, & leave a legacy with the work I create."
Favorite Christmas Memories/Traditions?
“My favorite Christmas memories include going to the mall with my mom, buying gifts--just being in the mall until midnight. I miss those times because as I’m pursuing this passion, often times, I'm working and I don't get to spend the Holidays with family in Seattle. Also, the homecooked meals, Sinigang is my favorite.” --Alfred Lape, LAVSH
