Serving the People Since 1999

Kabataang maka-Bayan, or Pro-People Youth, is a progressive youth and student organization. Our aim is to raise the social consciousness of the youth to organize and mobilize in response to issues affecting our local communities, the oppressed people of the Philippines and other pro-people issues around the world.

KmB unites youth who are working class, students, professionals, faith-based, queer, out-of-school, immigrants, cultural workers, and women. We unite with youth who share our principles and are willing to participate in work that supports the basic needs of the community and advances the people’s struggle for national sovereignty and genuine democracy in the Philippines.

We aim to build the youth and the larger community’s understanding of the need for national and social liberation in the Philippines by creating spaces to express and share ideas to analyze society and to think more critically. Our studies and training workshops are geared towards advancing the knowledge and skills of the youth to be proactive leaders integrated within the community. By putting theory into practice, KmB addresses a wide range of issues that contribute to working towards systemic change.

KmB’s Call to Youth:

Join spaces created to express, share ideas, and advocate for social change!

Continue the legacy of Filipino youth to fight for freedom and democracy!

Raise your social consciousness to critically analyze society!

Actively develop your skills to serve your community locally and globally!

KmB operates in Los Angeles, the Bay Area of California, and San Diego.
