Take #2 after Internet Explorer decided to fail at previewing my last blog.
2010 has been a year of laughs, carpet burns, and lost keys to say the least. It has been the year that I finally left my house and set out on my own in Orlando. It was the year that I joined an awesome team, the Bakitwhy team, and also the year I managed to make friends with people from countries around the world.
I say thanks to my family for everything they have taught me and drilled into my head, especially when it comes to saving money and time on groceries and cleaning. Living on my own in Orlando, as an intern/slave for Disneyworld, I wasn't as prepared as I convinced myself to be when I moved into an apartment with 3 roommates I didn't know yet. Nor was I prepared for the low salary Mickey Mouse decided to pay as, despite our hard work within his magical kingdom. I also thank my family for the truck they bought me when I was 16. Olga is still running beautifully, although old age has caused her to sag in quite a few places, she can still make the 6 hour drive to home. It's okay Olga, you are beautiful no matter what they say.
To my friends I say thanks for always being my link to the familiarity of home. Jennie, Christin, and Aly came to visit me a few weeks ago and although it was only for a weekend, it gave me the feeling that I was back home, goofing around, singing in the car, as we drove to wherever the car would take us before something went wrong, because something always went wrong.
Lastly I thank Bakitwhy. As part of a team of such inspiring and hard-working individuals I feel like I am starting to work towards what I've always wanted out of life. Bakitwhy gave me a voice in a small town in the panhandle of Florida, and I hope to continue to challenge myself with Bakitwhy to start a team here, so at the next team meeting I can say, WE RUN FLORIDA, instead of I RUN FLORIDA!
O and thanks to Mellisa Echandy who took my shifts so that I could come home for Thanksgiving week! THANKS MELISSA!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
