DJ Icy Ice, a.k.a. Isaiah Dacio, is one of LA’s premier DJ’s. In addition to being a respected radio station personality, he is also an entrepreneur and community activist as well as an archivist, a historian, and a hip-hop aficionado. Born and raised in Carson, California, Icy Ice's musical roots began as a b-boy in the 80’s, which introduced him to new musical styles and ultimately led to his destiny with the turntables. It was then that Icy Ice began to create a name for himself by DJ'ing at local events, parks, school dances and local nightclubs.
His versatile style of DJ’ing has him playing at the hottest, exclusive club venues locally and internationally. He is an original member of the World Famous “Beat Junkies” since 1992, which is now one of today's most distinguished and highly respected DJ crews in the world, and has performed in countries such as Australia, Japan, China, Canada, Europe, Mexico, and of course the Philippines. Icy Ice also helped create Club Promotion powerhouse Legend Entertainment, & is part of the recording artist Soul Elevation.

Recently, I have had "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon stuck in my head. It's super catchy and hard to not to sing along to. Some friends and I thought it would be fun to do a cover of this song a capella. It was very fun to arrange and just as fun to sing. I hope you enjoy our efforts! Earlier this year we lost an icon in Philippine popular culture. Francis Magalona, also known as Francis M. “The Master Rapper” or the “King of Philippine Rap” left this world as the most prolific hip hop artist in the Philippines. Although iconic, Francis Magalona was still very human. On March 6, 2009, he passed away at age 44 after a seven-month bout with leukemia. At the 18th Annual Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture, MastaPlann and The Kasamas will honor “The Master Rapper” by performing a few of his songs and by paying tribute to a true Philippine hero. MastaPlann is a legendary hip hop group that excelled in the ranks of Philippine hip hop in 1991 and continue to perform today.
I made this video back in May as an engagement gift for two of my close friends, Ryan, and Johanna. Two Pil-Ams that are truly in love. The music is provided by my good friend Chris Cendana. He is also a Pil-Am with an amazing talent for song writing and playing the guitar.
