The colonies are hostile this Saturday! Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto (representing Puerto Rico) will bout it out for WBO Welterweight supremacy. Moving up from 140 to 147 pounds, Pacquiao will once again be tested as he gains bulk, which is always a liability in terms of speed and power.

Pilipinos have been put on the map of "firsts" once again thanks to Pilot Nathaniel Jordan S. Calvo -  the first Pilipino to fly the Airbus A380 under Emirates airline - who recently flew the world's largest jet! 37-year-old Calvo has been schooled in aerospace and mechanical engineering in both the Philippines and then in the United States, where he took flight lessons and ignited his passion and love for flying. Qualifying for such a feat requires having been selected to take an A380 transition training course designed by Airbus, the leading aircraft manufacturing company itself.

Bakitwhy.com primarily serves the Pilipino-American demographic, a potentially enormous force in the United States. Pilipino-Americans make up the third largest Asian group in the United States.  We span multiple locations, generations, and backgrounds; however, that diversity also makes it difficult to connect Pil-Ams nationally.  We hope that BakitWhy.com can serve to bring together our disparate communities across the United States in order facilitate discussion, cooperation, and create action in the Pil-Am population.
