Gingee (Marjorie Light) is a solo performer from Los Angeles. She raps, sings, plays instruments, and makes beats. Her self-titled debut draws upon varied influences such as electro, old school techno, hip hop, South and Southeast Asian music, Brazilian baile funk and riot grrrl punk. Bridging different musical worlds, her mission is to inspire others to create and triumph over all forms of oppression.
Search to Involve Pilipino Americans(SIPA) presented an inaugural event that displayed a wide array of local talent celebrating and supporting the community. The event, aptly called Kita Tayo sa SIPA, was held in Historic Filipinotown. Kita Tayo had the feel of an intimate neighborhood celebration, with the sense of pride, support, and amity palpably felt among all those in attendance.
