SESSIONS LA is a DJ, Music Production, and Recording Workshop for youth and young adults. They are currently located at the Search To Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA) community center in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles. The workshop is free! At the workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of djing: (mixing, scratching, selection), as well as the basic aspects of beat making and recording (using Reason, Garageband, Pro Tools, and various keyboards and samplers).
Search to Involve Pilipino Americans(SIPA) presented an inaugural event that displayed a wide array of local talent celebrating and supporting the community. The event, aptly called Kita Tayo sa SIPA, was held in Historic Filipinotown. Kita Tayo had the feel of an intimate neighborhood celebration, with the sense of pride, support, and amity palpably felt among all those in attendance.
