Call for BakitWhy Contributors--Round 2!

We're doing a second call for new BakitWhy contributors! If you'd like to post interesting non-"xanga/livejournal-ish" blog type content and expose it to the worldwide audience, follow the three easy steps below!

To become a contributor:

1. Read through the BakitWhy posts to get a good sense of our style and content.

2. Pick a region which you'd like to represent:

(Note: Don't be limited on what you want to write because of your region.  We welcome any content that's applicable to all Pilipino-Americans)

3. Email Kaywan at kaywan@bakitwhy.com with your name, email address, number, region, and a link to or an attached writing sample.

4. I (Kaywan) will contact you with more information about guidelines, talk about your expectations and concerns, and orient you on the whole posting process if you're still interested after my boring speech.

Hello to everyone reading this! Kumusta pare! My name is Stephen Torrefiel and I am a Phil-Am model currently residing in Manila, Philippines. I moved here after a realization of needing to be more nearer to my culture and family. Seeing as people my age in the US of different cultures were not of the standards I was raised in as a full blooded Filipino, I wasn't able to comprehend them and moved here. Recently I got a job in the modeling business and am working on a major contract with GMA7 and hopefully a movie. I saw your link on a picture while surfing the internet and am very interested in contributing to your cause. Seeing as you were looking for someone to do community related things in America and not here in the Philippiens, I wanted to try my hand on writing for you, but if you have any other things I can do to help contribute to this very important cause please feel free to tell me. Hello Stephen. I was also surfing the net and I saw this website. I myself is a Fil-Am from Las Vegas. I am just wondering where in the United States you were born at? I am also curious about your modeling career because I have always dreamed of being a model. If you have any spare time please give me some hints on how I can apply to be a model there in the Philippines. -Cass

What's Good? This seems like a cool outlet for positive things in the Pilipino American community. I am a writer and photographer for a Bay Area based Hip Hop Magazine called Stash. Check us out at Stashonline.com. I would like to help contribute to this site...I will get my first published article in Filipinas Magazine in October on Rudy Corpuz of the anti-gang prevention organization called United Playaz. I also did articles on Roscoe Umali and Nump Trump for Stash Magazine...I am always down to support positive things in the Pilipino American community...Let me know how I can get down with y'all!!!
