Hello from Bakitwhy.com!
Since the launch of version 3.5, we here at BakitWhy.com have been working on giving the community a chance to use the site as a creative platform. As we embark on expanding our community, we want to give you a chance to share your writing talent. Since April is recognized as Poetry Month, we are excited to bring you “Words of a Poet,” a poetry contest open to all those willing to share their stories through written or spoken words. Submissions in this contest will also lay the foundation for our Creative Corner on the site.
Here are the guidelines!

We are recognizing April as Environmental Awareness Month, Autism Awareness Month, and Poetry Month. Your pieces can be, but are not limited, to any of these topics.

Please submit your pieces in a blog format to our IBakitWhy section under your own personal BakitWhy.com account. If you do not yet have your own BakitWhy.com account, it is free to create one.

Submissions* may be in written format or video format (video submissions can be directly embedded into the body of your post).

Tag your post with “wordsofapoet” so other people in the community can check out your work. When you tag your post, it will be pulled into the “Words of a Poet” page. Posts not tagged with #wordsofapoet will not be considered contest submissions.

Your piece will be judged on the level of interaction your piece inspires in the community. At BakitWhy.com, we aim to involve our community in dialogue that opens our awareness, bridges gaps, and expands the community itself. In order to encourage hits and interaction, feel free to spread the word about your post to your networks!

The winning piece will be featured on the main page of BakitWhy.com and receive an exclusive Dante Basco-signed shirt from Rufio Ink Apparel, which recently launched on April 9th, 2011!

All entries must be submitted today through April 30, 2011 (11:59pm PST) in order to be considered.
- Keep in mind: the earlier you submit your entry, the more interaction your post may receive.
